The "Western Siberia" eco-technopark will open this year. Three more similar facilities will begin operating in 2026, according to Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation.
This year, another plant, another eco-technopark called "Western Siberia," will be launched in Seversk, Tomsk region. And next year, we expect three more launches: a plant in Usolye-Sibirskoye in the Irkutsk region, Udmurtia, and the Kirov region.
It is then planned to open an eco-technopark in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region. According to Likhachev, most of these parks are multidisciplinary, but there are also specialized ones. For example, in Usolye-Sibirskoye, the eco-technopark deals with mercury. The Nizhny Novgorod park will work with energy storage and lithium technologies.
Thus, the entire production program will be formed in the next two years, and it will allow us to actively not only prevent new accumulations, but also, <...> most importantly, launch industrial waste into a repeated production cycle in the Russian Federation.
The Rosatom State Corporation carries out activities in a number of key areas for the state, including in the field of ecology. As part of the national project "Ecology," a separate environmental unit of Rosatom performs state tasks. Currently, work is underway on three federal projects: "Infrastructure for the Management of Waste of Hazard Classes I-II," "Clean Country," and "Preservation of Lake Baikal."
Last year, the first Russian technoparkdedicated to metallurgy opened in the Orenburg region. It was named "Scale." It develops technologies for metallurgical production and their implementation at enterprises in the country.
