Specialists of the "High-Precision Systems" holding (part of Rostec) have manufactured a prototype of the robotic chassis "Irbis". Unlike the remotely controlled ground drone "Karakal", the robot has an increased payload capacity. This was reported in the state corporation.
A representative of Rostec clarified that work on these two ground platforms is ongoing. Currently, the chassis is being tested with the installation of various combat modules.
The "High-Precision Systems" holding demonstrated the capabilities of the "Karakal" in December 2024. The ground drone with a payload capacity of up to 500 kg is equipped with the "Prometheus" remote control system via radio channel.
Characteristics of "Karakal":
- Engine with a power of 62 hp
- Cameras, thermal imager, navigation system
- Jamming-resistant radio transmitter
- Control panel operating range — 3 km
- Power reserve — 100 km
