Barges with a carrying capacity of 600 tons are being created as part of an investment project to modernize the civil fleet of Russia. The construction is financed with funds from the National Welfare Fund. The customer is the State Transport Leasing Company. All vessels in the series will operate on the Cherepovets — Astrakhan — Cherepovets route. The lead barge was handed over to the operator in April 2024.

The length of the barge is 47 meters, and the width is 8.44 meters. The dry cargo ship is equipped with voluminous holds and reinforced decks, which allows transporting a wide range of cargo — from grain and building materials to rolled metal products and lumber. The barges were designed for use as part of a river convoy, including up to 15 units and two tugs. The total carrying capacity of such a composition reaches 9 thousand tons.

The use of barges of this type allows accelerating logistics operations and reducing transportation costs. This is especially important in the context of updating the inland waterway transport infrastructure and the growing demand for environmentally friendly modes of transport.
