During tests in Zhukovsky, the crew of the new SJ-100 aircraft with Russian systems evaluated the integrated control system (ICS) in the Direct Mode backup control mode. The ICS was developed by specialists from the KRET concern (part of Rostec).
The aircraft demonstrated good stability and controllability characteristics in direct control mode throughout the permitted range of speeds and flight modes, including approach and landing.
The crew also tested a new function of the integrated control system — returning to the Normal Mode main control mode from the Direct Mode backup control mode when temporarily lost external signals are restored.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that work on the Baikal aircraft has reached a dead end: it will never see the light of day.
