Tver Carriage Works (TVZ) has received a certificate of compliance for the production of large-size compartment cars. The new car exceeds the standard 1-VM gauge car by 28 cm in width and 73 cm in length.
The use of the new T gauge has made it possible to increase the size of compartments and sleeping berths, as well as to reconfigure the cars and add additional rooms. The updated interior is aimed at increasing the level of individual comfort and personalization of space for passengers. The service life of the new car is 40 years.
Work on creating new passenger cars of T gauge has been underway for several years. The permit for serial production of model 61-4533 is valid until May 2030.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian Railways has started testing the first large-size compartment car.
