A new "Yolka" interceptor drone has been developed for the Russian military. The system is a compact, specialized kinetic interceptor that works similarly to man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) on the principle of: "acquired the target - fired - forgot."
The target is destroyed by mechanical collision and destruction of the enemy drone's structure, which allows "Yolka" not to use a warhead, although this is optional.
The manufacturer of the "Yolka" air defense drone is currently developing an automated air defense system to protect large military and industrial facilities, in which the role of the human factor in providing air defense will be minimized.
