Russian military personnel have found a new way to destroy heavy hexacopters "Baba Yaga". Drones are lured with heat traps, and then destroyed by machine gun fire, said the commander of the rifle platoon with the call sign Baron.
The soldiers noted that the drone flew to the position once every few days, mostly at night. The drone repeatedly dropped high-explosive shells weighing about 4 kg on the dugouts and observation posts of the unit.
Knowing that the UAV operator is guided by the heat signature, Baron used a heat trap as bait - a trench candle covered with a bucket. Using a night vision sight, the officer set the target and began firing from a Kalashnikov machine gun.
The operator discovered the shooting and directed the drone towards Baron with the intention of dropping a projectile. During the approach, the commander was able to hit the drone, hitting its body with armor-piercing incendiary bullets from a distance of about 50 meters.
