The draft updated state armament program for the period 2027-2036 states that Russia is working on creating a new generation strategic nuclear submarine.
The work is being carried out within the framework of an interdepartmental comprehensive targeted program.
The strategy predicts that an increase in the number of submarines in the navies of countries around the world will lead to an increase in demand from foreign customers for anti-submarine ships, anti-submarine weapons, shipborne and stationary sonar systems and complexes.
Shipbuilding enterprises are capable of satisfying up to 30% of the global market's demand for non-nuclear submarines, which in the next decade will amount to 60-70 units, including the creation of manned deep-sea vehicles, as well as small and ultra-small submarines.
It also became known that the updated state armament program does not provide for the creation of lead models of surface ships, non-nuclear submarines and multipurpose nuclear submarines at least until 2036.
