AvtoVAZ resumed assembling cars on May 12 at its plants in Togliatti and Izhevsk. During the downtime, significant modernization was carried out.
In the Lada Granta welding shop, the supply of sidewalls to the welding lines was automated, and on the Lada Vesta painting line, equipment was updated to work with new enamels. VAZ workers also prepared to install 1.8-liter engines on the Lada Niva.
The modernization began after a corporate vacation that started on April 30. At that time, the production of Lada Granta was suspended, and the plants were able to carry out the necessary work to improve production processes.
