AvtoVAZ specialists will complete the upgrade of production facilities this week to begin mass production of the Lada Iskra model. The new car will be assembled on the SKP "Kalina" line. Insiders claim that the plant plans to produce 20,000 cars in 2025.
To improve the efficiency of Iskra assembly, the production of the Lada Granta sedan will be transferred to the line where Niva cars are assembled. Initially, it is planned to produce up to 100 Lada Granta sedans per day – this assembly rate is considered minimal by AvtoVAZ employees, according to insiders, but by the end of the year, Lada Granta assembly will be increased to 300 cars per day.
The transfer of Granta production to the Niva line will free up additional capacity for Iskra and prepare the plant for increased production volumes, as AvtoVAZ intends to significantly increase the production of Lada Iskra in 2026.
