AvtoVAZ specialists will complete the update of production facilities for the start of mass assembly of the Lada Iskra model this week. The new car will be assembled on the SKP "Kalina" line. The plant plans to produce 20,000 cars in 2025, according to insiders.
To improve the efficiency of Iskra assembly, the production of Lada Granta in the sedan body will be transferred to the line where Niva cars are assembled. At the first stage, it is planned to produce up to 100 Lada Granta sedans per day – this assembly indicator is considered minimal by AvtoVAZ workers, according to insiders, but by the end of the year, the assembly of Lada Granta will be increased to 300 cars per day.
The transfer of Granta production to the lunar line will free up additional capacity for Iskra and prepare the plant to increase production volumes, because in 2026 AvtoVAZ intends to significantly increase the production run of Lada Iskra.
