Over the past four years, Russians have begun to consult doctors online much more often - the number of remote consultations has increased almost 7.5 times. This format is especially actively used in large cities, according to a study by SberZdorovye.
Consultations with therapists, pediatricians, psychologists and dermatologists are the most popular. However, there is a rapid growth of interest in other areas as well - such as urology, gynecology and traumatology.
Although an online appointment cannot completely replace an in-person visit to a doctor, it is increasingly being introduced into the work of large medical institutions - already 85% of clinics use telemedicine. This approach allows patients to save time and keep their health under control, especially in the case of uncomplicated conditions, when an urgent recommendation from a specialist is needed.
Senator Vadim Dengin noted that remote consultations are in demand because they allow you to quickly contact a doctor without wasting time on the road and searching for the right clinic. According to him, this is especially important after operations or when it is necessary to urgently clarify the dosage of drugs and recommendations for recovery.
He stressed that it is important not to replace in-person visits with telemedicine, but to use it as a supplement. Some medical cases require a personal examination and specialized equipment.
