Soviet-made T-62 tanks have found their application in modern combat, effectively turning into short-range artillery. This was reported by a serviceman with the call sign Boroda.
The old but reliable tank fires from a so-called closed position, when the target is out of direct sight of the crew. The tank receives coordinates for firing from drone operators.
When our armored group commanders are given a target, they come to us and tell us the square. We immediately run to our favorite machine, aim, report, and work it out. The "birds" correct us.
The T-62 was adopted in 1961, with a mass of 37 tons it is considered a medium weight tank. Initially, the tanks were equipped with V-shaped 12-cylinder diesel engines with a capacity of 580 hp.
Later they were replaced with more powerful V-46-5M engines with a capacity of 690 hp, allowing them to accelerate up to 50 km/h on highways, and up to 27 km/h on dirt roads.
