Ural is preparing to produce a new cab-over C35510 dump truck, which will receive a new Russian YaMZ-770 engine. Testing of the model has already begun.
The new engine will replace the YaMZ-653, which is a licensed version of the French Renault dCi11, and will be installed on dump trucks with a payload capacity of 21 tons.
The Yaroslavl Motor Plant will begin mass production of the 770 series diesel engines in early 2026, and the completion of testing of the dump truck with this engine is expected as early as February next year.
It is not yet known which version of the YaMZ-770 will go into production for the Ural C35510. Currently, this model uses an 11.12-liter engine with a capacity of 422 hp and a torque of 1985 Nm.
The new engine has a working volume of 12.42 liters and can develop up to 620 hp and 2550 Nm, but it is most likely that the dump truck will be equipped with an intermediate modification - about 450 hp and 2400 Nm. In addition, domestic axles will be used on the new trucks.
