Ретропоезд «Победа» ушёл в праздничный рейс в честь 80-летия Победы

Patriotic action unites residents of the Amur Region and Transbaikalia

The retro train "Victory" of the Trans-Baikal Railway began its first festive journey from Bureya station in the Amur Region. The event is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On April 29, the train departed from the eastern border of the Trans-Baikal Railway. The exhibition of military equipment on the train's platforms attracted special attention from local residents.

In the afternoon, the retro train was greeted at the Zavitaya and Ekaterinoslavka stations. It will pass through 14 stations in the Amur Region and four in Transbaikalia, completing its journey on May 9 in Chita.

The second retro train will depart on May 1 from Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky and will stop on May 7 in Zabaikalsk on the border with China.

Throughout the route, which is more than 2.5 thousand kilometers long, a thematic concert program will be organized for guests of the holiday. The trains include the legendary L-series steam locomotive and platforms with samples of military equipment.

This year, veterans of the Trans-Baikal Railway will become the machinists of retro trains for the first time. Together with young colleagues, 95-year-old Alexey Titov, 88-year-old Viktor Mikhnyuk and 80-year-old Vitaly Golobokov will sit at the controls. Managing retro trains in the anniversary year is a great honor and pride.
