A train parade has started on Moscow's Big Circle Line. Different eras of the metro are represented by 8 train compositions — from modern to authentic. City residents can not only look at the trains, but also ride them on September 7 and 8 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.
The parade is led by the retro train «Sokolniki». The composition was designed for the 75th anniversary of the Moscow Metro. The carriages are decorated with spring sofas, and the interior is decorated with lincrust (a relief covering). «Sokolniki» regularly runs on the Sokolnicheskaya line.
Train 81-717/714 «Numbered» is another authentic model. The intermediate carriages of the composition were not equipped with a driver's cab, which increased its capacity by 10%. You can see the train on several metro lines, since 2024 they have been replaced by «Moscow-2024».
«Point Six» is a modification of the «Numbered». The composition is equipped with an improved control system. The train cab is streamlined, the number of handrails in the cabin has been increased, and the pneumatic drive on the doors has been replaced with an electric one. This model is one of the rarest. On a normal day, it can be seen on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line.
«Rusich» is a modern train, 60% of these compositions are equipped with air conditioning. The carriages have impact-resistant double-glazed windows, an articulated body, and two lines of lighting. «Rusich» can accommodate up to 370 passengers. They run on the Sokolnicheskaya, Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Butovskaya lines of the Moscow Metro.
«Oka» is a train with bright purple carriages. Because of this, the composition received the nickname «Eggplant». For the first time in the history of the Moscow Metro, a through passage was made here, all carriages have air conditioning. Modifications can be found on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya, Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya, Solntsevskaya and Kalininskaya lines.
The new generation 765 series «Moscow» train is a modern composition with enhanced sound insulation of carriages. It is equipped with USB connectors for charging various devices and touch-sensitive interactive monitors. The train can be found on the Filevskaya, Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya, Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya, Nekrasovskaya and Sokolnicheskaya metro lines.
«Moscow-2020» is a modified version of «Moscow». The composition was equipped with USB connectors at each seat and cantilever LCD displays under the ceiling in the central aisles. The doors of the model are equipped with an anti-pinch system. These modern trains run on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya, Circle and Big Circle lines.
«Moscow-2024» is another modern composition with an increased passenger capacity of 17%. USB chargers have been moved to the handrails here, and Type-C connectors have begun to be installed.
