The company "Russian Railways" (RZD) showcased a new compartment car for passengers with reduced mobility at the "Transport of Russia" exhibition. The project is presented on a multimedia device at the company's stand.
The new car differs from standard ones in the number of specialized compartments — there are 4 instead of one. The sleeping berths are located parallel to the windows. This arrangement made it possible to enlarge the compartment and make the corridors wider.
Cars for passengers with disabilities include:
- Places for attaching wheelchairs and crutches.
- An enlarged sanitary zone.
- An automated lift for wheelchairs.
- Information on the plates, applied using Braille.
- Compartments with extended shelves (6 centimeters larger than standard).
You can see the new car live on December 3 of this year. The novelty will be presented on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and sent on its first trip as part of one of the long-distance trains.
Earlier www1.ru reported that RZD created a tender for the supply of 2 new generation rail grinding trains.
