The Kaliningrad-based Avtotor plant has announced the start of production of a new series of compact electric vehicles under the Eonyx brand. The line will include two models.
Currently, a test batch is being produced, and technologies and engineering solutions are being developed to adapt the basic configurations to the conditions of the Russian market.
In April of this year, a presentation will be held at which recommended prices for both models will be presented. The production of the first electric vehicle prototypes is underway on one of the production lines in Avtotor's experimental production workshop.
The new vehicle models belong to the L7 category and are intended for use in urban services, delivery services, industrial areas, and airports. Environmentally friendly compact electric vehicles have great potential for use in recreational areas, park facilities, and on the territories of hotels and sanatorium-resort complexes.
In 2025, it is planned to launch the production of Eonyx electric vehicles at a new plant, which is being built as part of the electric vehicle and auto component production cluster project. The project involves the production of up to 50,000 electric vehicles per year.
The electric vehicles will be adapted for use in Russia, undergo certification, and be included in the deep localization program. This means that parts, including critical ones, will be produced at the auto component cluster enterprises. The electric vehicles will be equipped with power plants manufactured by Avtotor.
In addition, Avtotor announced the continuation of work on a project to create an electric vehicle on an independent Russian platform. The project is being implemented jointly with the Moscow Polytechnic University. It is planned that in 2025, pilot production of the A1 electric vehicle will begin, which will be produced under the Amberauto brand. Currently, technological tests of individual components and structural elements are being carried out.
