The Department of Urban Development of the Krasnoyarsk administration refused the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant ("Krasmash", part of Roscosmos) to extend the permit for the construction of the enterprise's facilities. The plant is rebuilding the procurement and foundry production.
The Arbitration Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory considered the actions of the city authorities lawful. Krasmash has one month to appeal.
Construction work at the enterprise has been underway since 2015, when the plant first received permission for them. The document was issued by Roscosmos, since Krasmash is part of the State Corporation.
All these years, the company regularly extended the permit with the state corporation, but in 2024 it was refused. Roscosmos explained that the objects under construction do not belong to the space infrastructure, therefore, permits must be issued by local authorities.
Krasmash traces its history back to 1932, the company initially produced equipment for the gold mining industry. During the Great Patriotic War, the plant mastered the production of anti-aircraft guns, and since the 1960s it began to produce rocket and space technology. In particular, Krasmash produces Sineva ballistic missiles, Sarmat strategic missile systems, as well as basic modules for launch vehicles.
