Transmashholding (TMH) plans to provide railway transport with a reliable train. Mikhail Kupriyanov, Technical Director of TMH-Passenger Transport, spoke about the features of the train with hydrogen fuel cells.
The future train will have a separate power car in addition to the passenger cars. We managed to locate all the power equipment outside the passenger cars, which will reduce noise and vibration levels and ensure passenger comfort.
A distinctive feature of the hydrogen train is the car bodies with a lowered floor level in the area of the entrance zones. This will ensure comfortable boarding and disembarking of passengers from low and medium platforms.
The train design includes energy storage devices. They will allow the locomotive to continue moving up to 80 kilometers in the event of a power plant failure.
The train will be equipped with a control panel centrally located in the cab. This design solution will allow the driver to operate the train without an assistant. The hydrogen train is also environmentally friendly, as the waste from its power plant is water vapor, making it more resistant to environmental requirements and standards.
The launch of the first hydrogen trains is planned for suburban routes in Sakhalin in 2028. The locomotive will accommodate from 551 to 875 people, depending on the composition.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that TMH published renderings of the locomotive's interior.
