As stated by the manufacturer, the system provides continuous engine protection from damage by foreign objects — the degree of air purification reaches 93%.

When using the DPD, engine power losses are minimal due to the uniform distribution of the inlet flow and the absence of the need to draw air from the engine compressor. The complex also protects the helicopter's power plant from icing.

The Mi-171Sh has high transport capabilities, the ability to be used in special operations, autonomous basing and the possibility of hangarless storage.

Mi-171Sh Characteristics:

  • Weight — 13.5 tons
  • Crew — 3 people
  • Max. speed — 280 km/h
  • Flight range — 610 km
