On April 27, 2025, the UAZ "Simbir" celebrates its 25th anniversary. The car, which rolled off the assembly line of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant in 2000, became a landmark event in the history of the brand. "Simbir" combined the traditions of UAZ SUVs and modern elements of comfort.
In five years of production (2000–2005), 4789 cars were produced. The model became the predecessor of the UAZ "Patriot", which inherited many of the technical solutions of the "Simbir". At that time, it was an innovative car with ZMZ-409 engines and a 5-speed manual gearbox, as well as an updated interior.
"Simbir" became an important milestone in the development of the brand. The SUV successfully combined excellent cross-country ability with modern design. Today, the legendary SUV remains in the hearts of car enthusiasts and has become a link between the classic "loafs" and modern SUVs. Many owners still appreciate its reliability and ease of repair.
Fans of the brand note that "Simbir" proved that models from UAZ can be not only workhorses, but also a comfortable car for everyday use.
