The performance of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) in the first quarter of 2025 sharply declined: only 4.9 thousand vehicles were sold, which is 34% less than in the same period of 2024.
In the first quarter of 2025, the largest volume of sales of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant came from the models of the "old cargo series" (SGR) - 2148 units. They are followed by the "Patriot" SUV and "Pickup" with a figure of 1860 cars, and the third place was taken by the commercial "Profi" (813 units). The list is closed by the updated "Hunter", sold in a circulation of 78 copies. The data was provided by the analytical agency "Autostat".
Experts attribute the 33% drop in UAZ sales not only to the overall reduction in the Russian car market (-25%), but also to the anticipation of new versions. According to experts, the announcement of the diesel "Patriot" with a 6-speed gearbox and restyling forced private buyers to postpone the purchase of current models, which are inferior in equipment.
UAZ previously announced the launch of diesel modifications of the "Patriot" and "Profi" in 2025. The next step will be the integration of an automatic transmission from "eastern partners" - an analogue of the French Punch automatic transmission, which until 2022 ensured the popularity of models. Sources at the plant confirm that the introduction of the "automatic" is a key priority for restoring demand.
