Russia has begun testing the first Russian satellite communication system for medium-class unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The system is capable of providing new opportunities for UAVs, significantly expanding their range, according to the Russian design bureau (KB) "Intellektualnye pribory" ("Intep").
The General Director of KB, Alexander Kondrashin, emphasized that the system allows working with mobile, small-sized subscriber stations with a truncated aperture, while ensuring compliance with the regulator's requirements for operating on the air, as well as the efficient use of frequency resources through code compression.
It ensures stable operation at the edges of the coverage areas of spacecraft in geostationary orbit and promising spacecraft in high elliptical orbit, including in high latitudes.
