Tenet car production to launch in mid-summer 2025: four crossovers among the new models

Planned production volume — 200,000 cars per year

Four crossovers under the Tenet brand are planned to be presented in Russia before the end of this year. Small-scale production of the new brand's cars will start by mid-summer 2025 at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga. This was announced at a presentation during the Shanghai Auto Show.

The Tenet brand represents Chery cars, one of which — the Chery Tiggo 7L — is already sold in Russia. As production expands, this car will be renamed Tenet.

Preparations for the production of cars are in full swing and, in fact, the production itself will start very soon, initially on a small scale, using the large-unit assembly method.
Ilya Perminov, Chief Operating Officer of Tenet

The Tenet model line will include four crossovers, which will cover three market segments: SUV-B, SUV-C and SUV-D. The target audience is young people aged 25 and older with medium and high incomes.

Official brand partners will appear in 90 Russian cities, and at its peak, their total number should exceed 200 dealerships. It is planned to provide customers with authorized service and original spare parts. Ilya Perminov noted that there will be no problems with this. The issue of warranty for Tenet cars remains open, and an answer is expected as part of the official launch of the brand in Russia.

The Kaluga plant will be able to produce up to 200,000 cars annually. Although it will not be possible to reach this volume immediately.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Chinese auto giant will help restart the former Volkswagen plant and establish the production of Tenet cars.
