A common OSAGO policy for Russia and Belarus came into effect in both countries on April 23. This was announced by the Russian Union of Auto Insurers (RSA).
The policy is a standard OSAGO agreement with an additional agreement that extends the policy to the territory of Belarus. It is important that information about the additional agreement is entered into the insurance system. Registration is only possible electronically on the websites of insurance companies such as "Alfastrakhovanie", "Yugoria", "Zetta Insurance" and "Rosgosstrakh".
Recall that the law on the introduction of a common OSAGO was adopted by the State Duma in November 2024. It is aimed at creating a unified mandatory insurance system for car owners. Insurers with a permanent representative office in Russia or Belarus will be able to conclude such agreements. At the same time, it is important that cars are registered in the territory of the Union State.
