Unified CTP insurance system launched in Russia and Belarus

Agreements can be concluded electronically, and data about them will be entered into an automated insurance information system

A system has been launched in Russia that extends the effect of the CTP auto insurance policy to the territory of Belarus. The introduction of this mechanism is provided for by the law that President Vladimir Putin signed.

Now, when applying for a CTP policy in Russia, car owners will be able to include an additional agreement in it, thanks to which the insurance will also apply to the territory of Belarus. A similar mechanism for CTP insurance will also be available to motorists in Belarus.

Insurers with a permanent location in one of the countries of the Union State, in the territory of which the car was registered, were granted the right to conclude agreements. At the same time, agreements can be concluded electronically, and data about them will be entered into an automated insurance information system.

Drivers of border regions who frequently cross the border and road carriers will be able to use this policy instead of the usual "Blue Card". Nevertheless, for one-time trips abroad, it is still more profitable to purchase a "Blue Card", which allows you to stay abroad for a short time without the need to obtain long-term insurance.
