Lada Iskra received the official status of the flagship model of AvtoVAZ, ahead of the larger Lada Vesta and Lada Aura, which were previously positioned as top models. This was announced in an interview with Autonews by the company's president, Maxim Sokolov.
He noted that Iskra received the title of flagship not only due to its novelty, but also due to the deeply modernized CMF-B platform, which became the basis for this model.
What is a flagship? It is the one that goes ahead. Since 2015, the flagship model has been Vesta, last fall Aura became the new flagship, and six months later Iskra received this title. Moreover, it is a flagship in many respects, including in terms of the novelty of the platform
Earlier it was reported that up to 150 thousand Iskra cars would be produced in 2025. Sokolov said that the market is not yet ready for such volumes. It is expected that a total of up to 60 thousand cars will be produced.
