AvtoVAZ officially launched mass production of the new Lada Iskra model on April 19, 2025. Details about the car are revealed in the official brochure.
The new model is built on a deeply redesigned CMF-B platform and is positioned as a B-class model, occupying the niche between Lada Granta and Vesta. Production is organized at the plant in Togliatti, where the output can reach 150,000 cars per year. By the end of the first working day, four production Iskra cars had rolled off the assembly line, assembled even before the official launch ceremony.
Lada Iskra will be available in three body styles — sedan, station wagon, and Cross station wagon. All versions have a wheelbase of 2603 mm. The dimensions of the sedan are 4333×1777×1517 mm, the station wagon — 4333×1777×1507 mm, and the Cross version — 4342×1785×1544 mm. The ground clearance of the sedan and station wagon is 170 mm, and the Cross station wagon — 200 mm. The curb weight varies from 1125 to 1251 kg depending on the version. The cars are equipped with 1.6-liter engines with a capacity of 90 to 115 hp, with a maximum torque of 143 or 148 N·m. Transmissions available: 5- and 6-speed manual, as well as automatic. The Cross version is only available with a six-speed manual or automatic.
Before the start of production, 98 prototypes were made, which underwent 84 crash tests and many tests — from bench tests to driving in mountainous and northern areas. In terms of safety, Iskra meets or exceeds Lada Vesta and foreign B-class counterparts. The car received more than 1000 new components, 400 of which were re-engineered. The platform, electrical equipment, safety systems, and even paints and varnishes are adapted to new technological requirements and sanction conditions. The localization of the car exceeds 90%.
The exterior of Lada Iskra is made in the corporate X-style of AvtoVAZ: an expressive radiator grille, X-shaped lighting equipment, muscular stampings, and the inscription LADA on the trunk lid. The interior is modern, with improved sound insulation and wear-resistant materials. The central tunnel and air ducts are designed in a single X-design, the cabin has cup holders, niches for the phone, and even unlocking of the fuel tank hatch from the cabin. The equipment includes a multimedia system with climate control support, as well as a low windshield washer fluid sensor — for the first time for LADA.
With the release of Lada Iskra, AvtoVAZ expects to strengthen its position in the mass market segment, offering a modern, technological car of a new generation adapted to Russian conditions.
