"Gazprom-Media Holding" has announced the consolidation of its digital assets under the RuTube brand by the end of 2025. The short video service Yappy will become RuTube Shorts, and the Premier online cinema will be renamed RuTube Premier.
Sergey Kosinsky, Deputy General Director of the company, noted that this consolidation will improve interaction with users and expand the content library.
According to market experts, uniting services under one brand will help attract a new audience. At the same time, experts have doubts about the successful integration of Rutube with Premier. The latter service focuses on paid content.
Last year, Gazprom-Media already offered a combined subscription to three services, which cost 399 rubles per month.
RuTube was launched in 2006 and became part of Gazprom-Media in 2008. Since then, the platform has undergone many changes, including a merger with the legal content distributor Pladform.
In recent years, RuTube has significantly increased its audience, especially after problems with YouTube in Russia. In February 2025, the average daily audience of the service reached 17.6 million users.
