Rescue forces are ready to ensure the safe return of astronauts to Earth

The landing of the manned spacecraft is scheduled for April 20, 2024. Three aircraft and eight helicopters will participate in this event, ensuring the safety of the crew's return.

Representatives from the Ministry of Defense, FMBA, and other organizations, during a meeting held at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, confirmed the readiness of their units for the landing of "Soyuz." It will be accompanied by 11 aircraft, including one An-26 and two An-12s, as well as eight Mi-8 helicopters. Six search and rescue vehicles and 15 units of ground equipment have also been prepared.

Deputy Head of Rosaviatsiya, Andrey Potemkin, said that operational groups have already conducted a flyby of the landing areas. All forces are fully prepared to carry out the rescue operation.

As a reminder, the crew of "Soyuz MS-26" includes Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexey Ovchinin, Ivan Wagner, and NASA astronaut Donald Pettit. They have been in orbit since September 11, 2024.
