Scientists at Smart Engines have developed a system that automatically monitors cargo containers using augmented reality glasses. This innovative tool makes it possible to identify numbers and security seals on containers without the need for manual checks.
Employees of logistics companies and customs officials will be able to quickly obtain all the necessary information about the owner, type of equipment, serial number, dimensions and country of registration of the cargo, simply by looking at it.
The artificial intelligence technologies embedded in smart glasses are capable of automatically recognizing information even in difficult conditions, such as low light, dust or unusual shooting angles. In addition, this technology can recognize the engraving on the rod and body of seals, which corresponds to the international standard ISO 17712. This allows you to instantly identify cargo and identify cases of substitution of components of the sealing device.
Innovative technology will save logistics workers and customs authorities from having to manually enter data when checking cargo. Thanks to its versatility, this solution can be used in sea and river ports, at railway terminals, warehouses and logistics centers.
Integration with augmented reality devices, mobile phones and tablets makes this technology especially useful for employees working in high-intensity environments.
We have created a modern high-tech tool that sets a new standard in the logistics industry. The new technology automates logistics procedures and customs inspections and significantly speeds up the provision of surveying services at all stages of cargo transportation. The solution opens the way to the transformation of the logistics industry within the framework of Industry 4.0 and the formation of a transparent and safe transportation system.
Thanks to high algorithmic optimization, the system can be integrated with AR glasses and other devices. The system can be run on any device, including smartphones and tablets, without the use of a graphics processing unit (GPU).
The system is part of the Smart Code Engine software, which is designed to recognize bank card data, telephone numbers, car numbers, linear and matrix barcodes, as well as machine-readable zones of passports and visas (MRZ). The software product is registered in the register of Russian programs and belongs to the class of artificial intelligence.
Earlier, Rostransnadzor presented aninnovative solution for its inspectors - augmented reality glasses (AR). These glasses are a headset that allows inspectors to receive various data and information necessary for their work. The glasses can perform the functions of a video recorder, and in the future, perhaps, will become an effective tool in the fight against corruption.
