The Ufa-based "ODK-UMPO" conductedbench tests of the second prototype of the new Russian industrial gas turbine engine AL-41ST-25 for gas pumping units with a capacity of 25 MW. This was reported by the press service of the United Engine Corporation (ODK).
The power plant was created on the basis of an aircraft engine for combat aircraft AL-41, used on multi-purpose Su-35S and Su-57 fighter jets.
The first AL-41ST-25 is already being tested in real conditions at one of Gazprom's gas pumping stations, and the second sample will soon be sent to its place of work.
The AL-41ST-25 was developed by designers at the Lyulka Design Bureau. Rostec emphasized that equipment of this level had not been previously produced in the Russian Federation. The engine is distinguished by its quick installation and commissioning due to its compact size, lower weight compared to analogues, and an electronic engine control unit. The projected service life of the power plant is 120 thousand hours with the possibility of increasing it to 150 thousand.
