The Russian aircraft-carrying cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov" of Project 1143.5, which is idle due to repairs, is useless for the Russian Navy. This was stated by the American publication The National Interest (TNI).
In fact, Russia's only aircraft carrier, "Admiral Kuznetsov," is essentially useless. For most of the 21st century, this massive vessel has been idle in dry dock and constantly undergoing maintenance.
The cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov" was commissioned in 1991. Since 2018, the warship has been undergoing repairs and modernization at the 35th Ship Repair Plant of the "Zvezdochka" Ship Repair Center, which is part of the USC. The deadline for commissioning is at the end of 2024.
The ship is receiving a completely new interior, a new deck with a ski jump, a new navigation system, new cable routes, a new power plant, and a new control system for the takeoff and landing of carrier-based aircraft.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian military received "Zavet-D" - individual protection against high-precision projectiles.
