The Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) has proven itself as an effective means of combating enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Initially, the combat vehicle was designed to counter helicopters, airplanes and cruise missiles.
SAM commander Sergeant Nikita Dubnikov noted that the crew often hits UAVs such as the Leleka-1000, Furia and Shark, as well as air carriers of FPV drones.
The systems are equipped with modern 9M333 guided anti-aircraft missiles. Compared to the previous ones, they have an increased warhead, and they capture targets better due to a more sensitive homing head.
The military man added that the crew quickly disguises itself, does not stand in the same place, but works in motion, from different shelters.
