The former Hyundai plant in Russia (AGR) has begun shipping new cars to dealers, in addition to the Solaris – now these are Jaecoo brand cars assembled here.
Car carriers transporting new Jaecoo cars, produced at the AGR plant formerly owned by Hyundai, were spotted on the Levashovo highway in St. Petersburg. This confirms the start of deliveries of this brand's crossovers to dealers.
Jaecoo J7 and J8 models have been standing in the central parking lot of the enterprise for several weeks, and now some of the cars have begun to leave the factory for distribution to dealer networks.
The AGR plant, which came under the control of a Russian company after Hyundai's departure, has established the production of cars under the Solaris and Jaecoo brands.
The Jaecoo brand, owned by the Chinese concern Chery, is showing good results in the Russian market. According to Avtostat, in the first quarter of 2025, the brand took ninth place in sales with 5,036 cars sold, ahead of Solaris, which is produced at the same site and took tenth place.
Jaecoo cars from the St. Petersburg plant have begun to arrive at dealers, which means that the brand continues to strengthen its position in Russia.
