In March 2025, VK Video and YouTube led among video hosting platforms in Russia. This follows from Mediascope statistics.
The number of daily users (DAU) of popular video hosting platforms in Russia in March 2025: VK Video — 41.1 million people, YouTube — 28.9 million people.
Following this, in terms of the number of users, is the Rutube video hosting platform, which has 9 million people.
Statistical information was collected by analysts using the Mediascope Cross Web platform. The study surveyed users from Russia who accessed video hosting platforms via desktop and mobile devices. This did not include data from SmartTV devices, as well as background viewing and embedded viewing (a function that allows embedding a player with a specific video on third-party web pages).
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the CEO of Beeline, Sergey Anokhin, commented on the slowdown of YouTube. According to him, the reason for the delay lies in the outdated content delivery network (CDN), since after the owner of the service left the country, it no longer develops.
