The Kolomna plant (part of TMH) has tested and delivered to the customer the first 18-9DGM-02 diesel generator for the first new TE26 freight and passenger diesel locomotive. This was reported by the press service of "TMH".
Diesel generator 18-9DGM-02 is a modification of the serial analogue 18-9DGM with a new traction unit.
Additionally, at the request of the developer of the diesel locomotive, the TMH Engine Building Engineering Center made certain changes to the engine layout, the location of the electronic control units was changed to accommodate additional diesel locomotive equipment. The engine power remained the same - 2850/3100 kW.
The engine has been successfully tested. The production of the 18-9DGM-02 diesel generator is 100% localized in Russia.
TE26 is a universal freight and passenger diesel locomotive, which in the next ten years will replace diesel locomotives M62, 2M62 and 3M62 (produced by the Lugansk Diesel Locomotive Plant). Locomotives of this class drive economic trains that carry both goods and people over relatively short distances.
