Russian car market out of the top five European leaders

The Russian car market, which ranked fifth in the European championship in January, fell one step in February

In January, the Russian car market ranked fifth in the European ranking, but in February it fell even lower, according to the "Autostat" agency, received from the European Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA).

At the end of winter this year, Germany retained its leadership in the European car market, selling 203,434 cars, which is 6.4% less than in February 2024. France came in second with 141,570 cars, down 0.7% from the previous month.

Italy took third place with 138,020 cars sold, which is 6.2% less than in February last year. Spain came in fourth place, with 90,327 cars sold, up 11% from the previous month. The UK rounds out the top five with 84,054 cars sold, down 1% from February last year.

If we consider the European car market, including Russia, our country took sixth place in the ranking. According to the "Autostat" agency, in February 2025, 78,040 new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 24.9% less than last year. None of the other European countries managed to reach the mark of 50 thousand cars sold in the last month of winter.
