Russian authorities are considering creating a special operator to purchase ships abroad using state support, so that the procedures are carried out in a "single window" format.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed the development of the mechanism in accordance with the instructions of the head of state Vladimir Putin, but indicated that at this stage we are talking about forming the parameters of the initiative together with the industry community.
According to RBC, the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), which has been managed by VTB since October 2023, may become a "single window".
If the government decides to follow this path, fleet operators will contact USC to apply for purchases abroad using state support. At the same time, the corporation will have the right to offer them to order a ship at domestic shipyards.
