Мошенники облюбовали иностранные мессенджеры

Over 90% of fraud cases are related to the use of foreign communication platforms

In Russia, over 90% of fraudulent activities are carried out through foreign messengers. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, at a plenary session of the State Duma.

According to him, attackers often impersonate employees of government bodies, banks, digital services, and telecom operators. Such actions create serious risks for citizens who may become victims of fraud.

Amendments to the draft law on countering cyber fraud are being discussed in the State Duma in the second reading. Shadaev stated that one of the key norms of the draft law is a ban on the use of foreign messengers for employees of state bodies, special services, and digital platform operators. This refers to messengers and instant messaging services that are sometimes integrated into websites.
