Банкам и государственным службам запретят использовать иностранные мессенджеры для общения с россиянами

The relevant bill was prepared by the Russian government

The Russian government has prepared a bill prohibiting government agencies, banks, and telecom operators from using foreign messengers when communicating with clients. This was announced by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

According to him, the ban on foreign messengers will help prevent cases where fraudsters impersonate employees of banks or government agencies.

As part of a set of measures to combat telephone and Internet fraud, mandatory call labeling is also being introduced to determine who they are coming from: an organization or an international virtual number. This information will be displayed on the phone screen.

In addition, citizens will have the opportunity to opt out of advertising calls and messages that are made without their prior consent.

To identify fraudulent activities and block them in a timely manner, it is planned to create an information system that will collect recordings of the voices of attackers.

The package of amendments is being prepared on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation. Measures to combat cyber fraudsters are being developed by the Ministry of Digital Development.
