Footage of the landing of a Russian fourth-generation Su-34 fighter "on its belly" has appeared on the Web. This is the first such case in the history of combat aircraft of this type.
Before such a landing, the navigator's canopy is dropped so that if the plane rolls over, the crew can get out through it.
Because it is not possible to open it in an inverted position, and the standard exit is blocked by the front landing gear.
Characteristics of the Su-34 aircraft:
Maximum take-off weight — 39 500 kg, maximum speed at altitude — 1.45 Mach, maximum combat load weight — 8 500 kg, practical ceiling — 15 000 m, number of suspension points — 12.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia will produce about 20 SJ-100 aircraft with PD-8 engines per year: the start date of production has been announced.
