Crews of army aviation of the Southern Military District (SMD) military base in Armenia performed flights on Mi-8MTV helicopters in difficult meteorological conditions. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The pilots practiced tasks of landing and taking off on limited sites, flights along specified routes.
The military paid special attention to performing flights in the "stealth" mode — with the lighting devices and external identification signals turned off.
The new "eights" can be equipped with additional fuel tanks with a capacity of 915 liters, which allows them to cover long distances without refueling — up to 1,050 km.
Multipurpose Mi-8MTVs are capable of transporting cargo weighing up to 4 tons, and the vehicles are also equipped with medical modules if necessary.
Earlier www1.ru reported that specialists turned a kamikaze drone into a missile, accelerating it to 280 km/h.
