Спам и реклама не пройдут: в России ввели обязательную маркировку звонков на экранах мобильных телефонов

Operators will notify subscribers about legal, foreign and Internet calls free of charge

The State Duma of Russia has adopted in the first reading a bill that introduces mandatory call labeling on mobile phone screens.

Telecommunications operators will be required to notify subscribers free of charge that a call is coming from a legal entity, a foreign number or is an Internet call. This information will be displayed on the mobile device screen.

The bill stipulates that companies must provide the telecommunications operator with complete and reliable information about calls, including mass calls. Subscribers will be able to refuse to receive such calls by filing a complaint with the operator, who will be obliged to consider the appeal and take action if the calls continue.

As part of this project, operators are required to notify subscribers about foreign or Internet calls, as well as give them the opportunity to block all incoming calls from foreign numbers. Citizens will also be able to refuse to receive advertising mailings.

These changes are aimed at combating telephone and Internet fraud and will provide greater control for subscribers over incoming calls.
