Military personnel of the Tor-M1 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) shot down a low-flying Shark reconnaissance drone and provided cover for advancing units. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Upon receiving a combat mission, the Tor-M1 marched to a designated area to control the airspace and began monitoring the situation.
The cohesive work of the crew allowed for the prompt identification, tracking, and destruction of the UAV.
The ministry added that the modern radar equipment of the Tor-M1 allows operators to easily and accurately detect aerial targets within its area of responsibility and effectively destroy them. The system can detect a target at a distance of 30 kilometers and engage it at a range of up to 15 kilometers.
The accuracy of combat employment allows the crew to eliminate up to eight enemy aerial targets using one ammunition load.
