Ships of the Russian Navy and the Pakistani Navy will conduct joint PASSEX naval exercises in the Arabian Sea, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
The Russian side in the maneuvers will be represented by a detachment of ships from the Pacific Fleet, consisting of the corvettes "Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and "Rezkiy" of Project 20380, as well as the tanker "Pechenga."
During the exercises, the ships of the two countries will practice joint maneuvering tasks with the involvement of deck helicopters, conduct communication training, and other elements of interaction.
Project 20380 corvettes are designed to destroy enemy submarines and surface ships, solve various tasks in the near sea zone, and ensure the landing of troops.
The armament of the ships, depending on the modification, includes launchers for anti-ship missiles "Uran" or "Caliber-NK", artillery mounts, anti-aircraft missile system, machine gun mounts and grenade launchers. They have anti-torpedo and anti-submarine protection.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Su-30SM2 fighters and Su-24M bombers practiced strikes against warships in the Baltic.
