Астронавты NASA и космонавты Роскосмоса проходят одинаковую подготовку на кораблях «Союз»

Cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko confirmed that all crew members without exception pass exams

NASA astronauts are trained for flights on Russian Soyuz spacecraft under the same conditions as Russian cosmonauts. This was announced by the commander of the Roscosmos detachment, Oleg Kononenko.

There is an international commission that determines the training procedure, what kind of training should be, and determines the level and degree of readiness of each crew member in each segment of the International Space Station. How can these rules be circumvented?

According to him, each crew member is obliged to undergo all the necessary training and pass exams.

Currently, the Cosmonaut Training Center (CPC) is conducting comprehensive training on simulators of the International Space Station and the Soyuz manned spacecraft. The results of this training will help determine the readiness of the Soyuz MS-27 crews for the upcoming flight.

The Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft will go to the ISS on April 8, delivering the main crew of the 73rd long-term expedition, which includes cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Alexei Zubritsky, as well as NASA astronaut Johnny Kim. The backup crew consists of cosmonauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev, as well as astronaut Christopher Williams.
