A combat laser installation capable of hitting drones was tested in Crimea. This was announced by the head of the all-Russian project "Archangel" for training drone piloting, Mikhail Filippov.
During the tests, the laser successfully engaged targets at a distance of up to 35 m. "The beam cuts through a tree 15 cm thick in 5-6 seconds, then burns through another 2-3 obstacles.
It takes about 1 minute for silicate brick, and metal 10 cm thick takes about 10 seconds of direct exposure.
Filippov added that the developers are testing various guidance systems that will allow the installation to be used to protect infrastructure facilities. The compact laser fits in the trunk of an ATV.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia will sell India engines for T-72 tanks for $248 million.
