New special drone ammunition developed for Kalashnikov assault rifle

Developers achieved acceptable range and accuracy in tests

Special air-fragmenting 5.45 mm rounds designed to combat drones have been developed for Kalashnikov assault rifles, according to Igor Potapov, an official representative of JSC NPP.

The tests showed that the range and accuracy achieved are acceptable. At a distance of 100 meters, we achieved a dispersion cloud of almost 25 cm. This indicator speaks to the effectiveness of the product.

JSC NPP added that the cartridges will undergo a series of additional tests to confirm their characteristics. The ammunition is versatile and standardized for the weapons that every soldier has.

This is very good, since similar products are made for various calibers that not everyone has, respectively, it is quite difficult to use them. In the near future, the product will undergo further testing stages to confirm the stated characteristics", Potapov noted.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia will sell engines for T-72 tanks to India for $248 million.
