Military turned kamikaze drone into a missile with a speed of 280 km/h

Such a drone cannot be shot down with small arms

Specialists of the "Archangel" project have modified a kamikaze drone, increasing its speed to about 280 km/h. This was announced by the head of the project, Mikhail Filippov.

According to him, ordinary kamikaze drones fly at a speed of 70-120 km/h. The engineers made a hybrid with vertical take-off, which switches to "wing mode" and flies like a missile.

Therefore, due to proper aerodynamics, with the same motors and batteries, it flies two to three times further and much faster. The minimum range is 50 km, the speed is 280 km/h. At this speed, it is physically impossible to shoot it down with small arms.

Such a drone can be used against cell towers and long-range targets of lightly armored vehicles where equipment is located, as well as against enemy UAVs when protecting critical infrastructure.

Earlier www1.ru reported that an innovative Avatar reconnaissance drone with a range of up to 40 km has been developed in Russia.
